🚛 Handling a Truck Breakdown: 7 Key Steps 🚛

-Find a Safe Spot: Pull over to the widest spot you can find and turn on your flashers. Monitor traffic to avoid getting rear-ended.

-Ease Off the Road: If possible, slowly move off the road instead of making a hard turn.

-Set Up Flares: Place flares or triangles behind your truck at 50', 100', and 150' intervals.

-Open the Hood: Indicate your truck is broken down by tilting open the hood.

Safe Backing Tips 🚛➡

Avoid blind siding whenever possible to minimize the risk of accidents. When backing in beside another vehicle or a parked trailer, always prioritize safety.

If blind siding is unavoidable, start by taking a mental picture of your target area. Position your rig to set the trailer in the best possible spot with minimal angle and maneuvering.

👉REMEMBER: G.O.A.L.! GET OUT AND LOOK! Step out of your vehicle frequently to physically check your position. Even if it means getting in and out every few feet, it ensures a safe landing.

Take your time to back up safely and avoid incidents. It’s worth the effort!
