Horseshoe crab spawning season is well underway. If you see any out there upside down. Just flip them over they will make their way back to the water. DO NOT pick them up by the telson (tail). They use that appendage like a rudder when they move and swim. Breaking it off is detrimental to their survival.
Jus tpic them up by the side if you nee dot move one. Those little claw feet are harmless. They just look freaky, but so would you after 250 million years.
