xplosive Dazzle is in their 3rd season as a special needs cheer team. This team is comprised of athletes ages 5 and above of varying abilities. We accept children of all disabilities and levels of functioning. The team practices 1x/week for 2 hour sessions running from June-May During practices they work on fine and gross motor, self-esteem, team interactions and language skills through activities aimed at developing a comprehensive cheer routine. The team learns the same routine sections as the competitive cheer teams do: jumps, motions, dance, stunts, pyramid, tumbling. The routine is tailored to the abilities of each individual athlete so that all athletes can participate to the full extent of their abilities. Each athlete is assigned a ‘buddy’ athlete from within our competitive cheer program to help them learn the routine and improve their skills. Dazzle compete at 7 local competitions and 2 travel competitions during the course of their season. The Dazzle team is coached by a USASF (United States AllStar Federation) coach as well as a coach with training in the a coach with training in the special needs population.

Accessibility can mean something different from one hotel to the next, and the details can make a big difference in how comfortable a trip feels.

🚿 Is there a true roll-in shower, or is it a tub with grab bars?

🚪 Are the doorway and bathroom entrances wide enough for the traveler’s mobility device?

🛏️ Is there enough clearance around the bed for comfortable movement or transfers?

🚽 What type of grab bars and accessible bathroom features are available?

🛗 Is the room located near an elevator or another convenient route through the property?

🦽 Can a wheelchair or mobility device move comfortably through the room?

🚐 Is accessible transportation available between the hotel and the places you plan to visit?

The goal is not simply to find a room labeled “accessible.” It is to find accommodations that match the traveler’s actual needs, routines, and comfort.
