Forgot to share this past weekend. But I picked up this 1979 Deuce VT. Great amp. Weighs a TON. 120 watts. Needs new tubes. Needs a thorough cleaning. 2 of the casters are seized up. Couple of burn spots on the top that I assume are where someone rested a cigarette on the top and it burned down while the guitarist was playing.
Found two services stickers on the chassis; one from 1979, an amp repair shop in California and another from the mid 1980s from our own Buddy Rogers Music here in Cincinnati. The musician I picked it up from had it for the last decade. Nice to learn a little bit about the history some of the gear that passes through my hands.
I’ve wanted to get my hands on one of these for some time. I’m glad it’s here. I’m excited to service this amp and run some vintage guitars through it!

Just picked up this 1977 Hagstrom Swede. Very cool! Players grade. Has had a headstock repair at some point but was done very well (right along where the head meets the neck). Tuners replaced with vintage schaller tuners (very well done. Old holes where filled properly.) low action. Everything else is stock I believe. With original hard shell case. Very nice cool piece to add to the collection.
I’m really happy with my vintage collection these days. Have a lot of, what I think, are fairly rare and unique guitars. Maybe I’ll do another collection vid for the YT.

Question!!! What are some must have tools or accessories that should be in a portable tool bag for a small time touring musician? What HAS to come with you to gigs? Aside from the obvious (guitar and amp gear).
I’m building a small, portable tool bag to travel with. I plan to hit the road here soon. So I’m curious WHAT has to come with you?

This weeks boisterousness..
This crate head and cab have been at the house for a while now. Can’t seem to pack it up. Nor do I find the urge to sell it yet. I like it. Can’t believe how great it is. I loaded the cab with Celestion Hempback speakers not too long ago.
Just been writing a lot this week. This was what I’ve used. Change of pace head wise. Typically run the orange.

Early 80s G-600
Mid 2000s crate cab w/ 4 Hempback speakers.
2018 Black Back (it’s heavy as hell)
And my pedalboard. Been about the same for a year now. Happy with my pedal setup.

Surfing the web this morning for strat parts. Came across a mirrored pickguard. It had me thinking about Jeff Buckleys famous Telecaster. 1983 USA made. Custom Carvin pickguard. Top loader bridge. Seymour Duncan Hot Lead Stack pickup in the bridge. Whoof. What a guitar. It was nothing special till it reached his hands. he made it his own and it could sing.
His clean tone was one of the best. Beautiful. Something I strive for.

I am looking for a peavey stereo chorus 210 or a Fender power chorus red k**b (or) Princeton chorus red k**b. If anyone has one or knows someone. I’m looking to trade for one.
Both of these are great amps. Super similar to the Roland jazz chorus amps but for a fraction of the cost. Great pedal runners. But also sound sexy on their own. I’m a sucker for and red k**b amps.

2023:
If you didn’t know by now, I’m working to slowly open a guitar store on the east side of cincinnati within the next 3-5 years. Why so long? Cause it’s a process. I don’t want to lean on a bank for a loan so money has to either come from making it or investors. Inventory takes time to find. Location, in my mind, has to be perfect.
The plan is to work night and day to make this happen. It’s my dream. It’s my life goal. To raise money I’ve got some plans in the works. New Stringmancer merchandise. I appreciate everyone that bought merch last year (and this year).
I plan on offering a couple more services this coming year on top of gear repairs and setups;
I’ll be offering dj services. If you’re having an event or wedding and want music I can provided. If you need a small time sound guy for acoustic shows, poetry readings what ever, I have a small PA I can run sound for you.
So if anyone needs anything else music related I can be a hired gun. Need a bassist or guitarist to fill a gig? I’m your guy. I play many genres and learn songs quickly.
Any odd job musoc related. I’ll pickup.
But if you would like to donate to helping me meet my goal, my venmo is in the attached pictures. Anything is appreciated. Thanks to everyone that’s supported Stringmancer so far. It’s a process! I am very grateful for everything this far!

The Crush Pro 120 is my daily driver. If you play one you know why. The Origin 20 is a close second for home use. My Marshall head and matching cab don’t leave the house. If you’re in the market for something similar I can’t recommend either enough. The orange buy itself is great for metal/doom and the reverb is pretty great but also doubles as an incredible pedal runner. The origin is a stripped down easy to use tube amp. It makes a great pedal runner. Keeps a nice crisp clean tone until it’s cranked then you can get some vintage style Marshall overdriven tones. My Marshall cab is my home workhorse. I run just about all my head through it. I’ve somehow managed to keep these in pretty minty condition in the last two years. Heck, the Marshall still has the tags on it. 💀🤘
