🚌 Teamwork, Patience, and a Whole Lot of Heart! ❤️
Getting our NCSD students to and from school safely—during our summer programs and throughout the school year—is a monumental task. But yesterday afternoon, our team showed exactly what makes NCSD Transportation so special: pure kindness, patience, and incredible teamwork.
It was a very hot afternoon at Seth Lewelling Elementary, and one of our incoming kindergarteners was having a tough transition day. Long story short: our little friend absolutely refused to get on the bus to go home.
We’ve all been there, and honestly, we probably all felt like crying (and maybe stomping on the ground!) right along with him. 😊 But our amazing team stepped up to save the day:
Driver John was absolutely wonderful. He stayed completely calm, patient, and kind, all while balancing his responsibility to get the other children on his route home safely.
Back at the office, Debbie answered our call, listened patiently to the situation, and immediately jumped into action to find a solution.
Shortly after 5:00 PM, Ashley arrived in Bus V15—booster seat in hand—to personally and safely transport our little friend home so his mom didn't have to navigate public transit with multiple young children.
It was a tough situation that ended beautifully because of the care this team has for our kids.
