We are a on demand service operated by Clay County Task Force, Inc., a Kansas non-profit corporation. Our mission is to provide safe, convenient and affordable transportation to the Clay County, KS residents. We help all people of all ages to work, medical appointment's, general shopping, conduct business and much more. Funding for the Clay County General Public Transportations is provided by the State of Kansas, Federal Transportation Administration, Clay County and Donations.

Clay County General Public Transportation is looking for a New Hire to Join the Team.

Job Title: Driver
Part-Time Job All
Hours: will vary depending on what is needed, Max hours of 32 hours for the week
Pay: will be discussed during interview
Starting: Immediately
Primary Area of Service Clay County Area
Training will be provided for the Job
POSITION SUMMARY
The driver is responsible for providing safe transportation for the elderly, disabled, and the general public within CCGPT service area. Following a demand-response schedule to pick-up and transport passengers to various destinations is required. The employee must possess excellent driving and public relation skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Must have a Kansas Driver’s license
2. Clean Driving Record
3. Good communication skills with peers and passengers
4. Must pass pre-employment physical
5. Must submit to drug and alcohol testing per FTA regulations
6. Must be able to work well with people of all ages, abilities and diversities.
JOB TASKS
1. Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
2. Follows all traffic rules and regulations for driving a passenger vehicle
3. Follows a demand-response schedule for picking up the elderly, disable and general public.
4. Prioritize passenger schedules to meet their appointments and needs
5. Assist passengers in getting on and off the van and assist wheelchair riders per CCGPT policy
6. Inform trip coordinators when preventative maintenance and major repairs are needed
7. Put fuel in vehicles, maintain daily log sheets recording all passenger pickup and deliveries
8. Collect fares for rides and keep accurate records of suggested donations
9. Maintain daily and weekly pre-trip and post-trip inspection check list per regulations
10. Clean vehicle inside and out at end of day
11. Notify trip coordinators immediately and complete accident reports promptly
12. Read and adhere to CCGPT policy and procedures manual
13. Assist transit manager and trip coordinators as the need arises
14. Run errands as needed
15. Perform other duties as deemed necessary or assigned
