Out of 7,000 applicants Davis Transport Services was honored to be among those chosen as one of the inaugural Nextdoor 2023 Keep It Local Grant Recipients.
The Nextdoor Kind Foundation awarded 20 U.S. small business owners of color microgrants from the Keep It Local Business Fund. The fund is the first phase of the Foundation’s commitment to providing local grants to help neighbors strengthen their local communities. In partnership with the NAACP, the largest and most pre-eminent civil rights organization in the nation, and Hello Alice, the free platform helping over one million small businesses launch and grow, the grant program awarded a total of $100,000 in microgrants to entrepreneurs, enabling them to help strengthen and support communities at a local level.
Part of our goal at Davis Transport Services is to help minorities and underserved families from our community obtain their CDL’s and start their own business. When we help our community overcome challenges and advance it’s a win for all of us. We want to drive a positive change in our community and this grant from the Nextdoor Kind foundation is just the start. Along with receiving the grant we were invited to sit on a panel at the headquarters of Nextdoor in San Francisco California and discuss minority entrepreneurship and how this grant will help us promote change in our community.
We would like to thank everyone at the Nextdoor headquarters for their kindness and for this opportunity.
