Thank you for your ongoing support Saint Luke's Foundation!

Congratulations to Bike Your Neighborhood on another amazing summer of rides.

Bike Your Neighborhood wrapped up its summer season, and it was a big success. Thank you to all the residents who joined us to get active, ride together, and enjoy the beauty of our neighborhoods.

This summer was extra special thanks to the many partners who joined the journey. Artists from Impart 216, Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere, and others brought creativity, kindness, and powerful stories to every ride.

We are so proud of the impact these rides continue to make in our community.

While this season has ended, you can stay connected to Bike Your Neighborhood by visiting bikeyourneighborhoodcle.org.

Tomorrow is the DAY! Yall are not gonna want to miss this one 🚴🏾

Tomorrow’s ride will culminate in an after-party sponsored by the Saint Luke's Foundation and Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere _ founded by comedian (Ricky Smith). You may have heard about Ricky’s latest project, (Something Good Social Kitchen) , on Playhouse Square Plaza. 🍔

Tomorrow’s after-party will feature R.A.K.E.’s Really Amazing Food Truck with FREE food and drinks and a DJ set.

Special thanks to sponsor Saint Luke’s Foundation and promotional partner, the The City Club of Cleveland for their support 🙌🏾.

🔔 A bit more about R.A.K.E.: Their mission is to support the community in a positive way. Founded by comedian Ricky Smith, R.A.K.E. wants to enrich lives, encourage kindness, and promote the act of paying it forward. Now in its third year, R.A.F.T. or the “Really Amazing Food Truck,” is an extension of R.A.K.E. that nurtures the Cleveland community through love, kindness, and food.

Will you be there? 🎉🥳🚴🏿

Today we’re highlighting a random act of kindness from our most recent ride ♥️🚴🏾

During our Hood Honey ride earlier this month, the day was extremely hot so we decided to make a pit stop at the Kinsman Discount Beverage and Food Mart (corner of E. 119 & Kinsman) for extra drinks to stay hydrated.

One of our ride volunteers went ahead to alert the deli owner that a big group of cyclists were on their way.

When the group arrived, the owner came outside with multiple baskets of complementary ice cold bottled water. He handed out 1-2 bottles to everyone on our ride and he refused to let us pay for ANYTHING!

It was truly a special moment that highlighted the beauty of community and reflected one of the reasons we do these rides in these first place!

We wanted to express a hearty THANK YOU for the kindness extended by Jafra and his daughter. Their generosity helped keep us cool for the rest of the ride. Be sure to check out their deli if you’re in Mt. Pleasant!

We've got a HOT one lined up for you tonight. We're rolling out of Shaker Square tonight at 7 PM with our friends from Bike Your Neighborhood to explore the environs around the square and neighborhoods directly north and south of it.

As most of you are no doubt aware, Cleveland (and much of the eastern US) is in the middle of a severe heat wave. Currently, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through Tuesday evening for the area.

You can expect heat index values up to 104 degrees today, with some cooling taking place by ride time tonight. We will have water on hand if you need to fill your bottles, but at this time we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE riders to bring extra water for themselves for tonight's ride, which is mostly flat, and does not involve big hills.

It's also important to hydrate yourself before you get outside and begin riding. Start drinking water early and often today if you plan on meeting us at Shaker Square. Anyone who experiences heat-related health issues should STAY HOME for this one. There will be a ride next week and it will be cooler than today.

And if you're feeling sick or disoriented, that's your body's way of telling you to stop whatever you're doing, find some shade and rest. If you notice other riders who seem to be having difficulty, please point them out to squad so we can get them some assistance if necessary.

We hope to see you tonight, and see you prepared.
