This past weekend BCCOA held its enter the year agency meeting. Employees from all over the Delta and Central region gathered at the Jackson Medical Mall to discuss expectations and goals for the upcoming fiscal year. Our Executive Director LaShonda McKinney opened the meeting discussing the shift from public transportation to community transportation. The team members were informed we don’t just do transportation we connect people to places, expand access, provide reliable options while creating opportunities!! Other invited guest included our Risk Management team The Evans Agency, MDOT Director of Public Transit, Financial Consultant and Legal Advisor Attorney Helen Mitchell. The team took part in an exercise about the history of BCCOA and drivers went through wheelchair securement exercises and proper inspection of vehicles. Director of Public Transit Division Roderick Bailey encouraged drivers to continue to drive and go forward using the story of the Shunamite Woman! BOLIVAR COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING, INC. (BCCOA)
ACCEPTING OF BIDS

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2026 Bolivar County Council on Aging, Inc. (BCCOA) will be accepting “BIDS” for fleet insurance and commercial liability for fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2027. The requested coverage needed for insurance is below:

Fleet Insurance:
General Liability: $1,000,000
Automobile Liability: $1,000,000
Sexual Abuse Misconduct: $500,000

The deadline for all bids is Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The agency reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. Interested individuals may contact the Executive Director LaShonda McKinney at 662-846-6161 for further information.
