Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) Connecting Northeast Ohio to the world with 40+ nonstop destinations ✈️ CLE first opened in 1925 and was the first municipal airport in the country.

Fast forward to today, and CLE is Ohio’s busiest airport, serving more than 10 million passengers in 2019. CLE has a rich history and in its early years served as a stop for the U.S. AirMail making coast-to-coast flights. It quickly grew to become a major destination for personal and commercial aircrafts. CLE led the nation, implementing new airport technology, including the world’s first radio-eq

uipped air traffic control tower and the nation’s first airfield lighting system. Aviation giants, Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh made routine visits to CLE in the 30s and 40s, and CLE was home to the National Air Races for nearly 40 years. Moving into to present day, CLE still offers passengers a first-class airport experience with a variety of modern amenities for travelers. Our CLE concessions offer a mix of local, regional and national brands, under the management of FRAPORT Cleveland. With a diverse art program located throughout the airport, a variety of lounge options, quiet spaces and dedicated charging stations - we want to make our passengers experience as enjoyable as possible. Other terminal amenities include: a variety of shopping and dining, Pet Relief Area (Main Concourse and Baggage Claim), a Mother’s Room, currency exchange, and much more! Y’all got so excited about CLE to Dallas Love Field on Southwest that it’s going YEAR-ROUND ✈️

Southwest Airlines’ nonstop CLE-DAL route takes off October 1, 2026, running six days a week throughout the month. Following additional holiday flights, the route will transition to daily service starting March 11, 2027, to accommodate increased demand 🥳

Beginning in 1929, the National Air Races brought pilots, aircraft, and aviation enthusiasts to Cleveland, helping establish the city as an important gathering place for flight and innovation.

Today, that legacy continues through events like the Cleveland National Air Show, which brings visitors to the lakefront each Labor Day weekend to celebrate the skill, history, and ‘WOW’ factor of aviation.
