🔴 Red Line: shuttle will replace Red Line rail service between Airport and Brookpark Stations until further notice. This is due to mechanical issues.

We’re excited to have reached this next phase of the Railcar Replacement Program, and we know many of you are excited to see the new railcars, too!

As they arrive in Cleveland, remember that safety comes first. There are still several important steps ahead before the new railcars are ready to welcome riders, including inspections, preparation, testing and commissioning.

We’re looking forward to giving Greater Cleveland a closer look when the railcars are ready for public viewing. Until then, follow along as we bring you behind the scenes and share their progress toward passenger service in Summer 2027.

A milestone we’ve been waiting for is here. 🚆 Our first new GCRTA railcar has arrived in Cleveland!⁣

We’re excited to welcome the first railcar home, but its arrival is only the beginning. Next comes preparation, assembly, testing and commissioning before it’s ready to carry riders.⁣
⁣
There’s more work ahead before the new railcars are ready for public viewing, and we look forward to sharing them with Greater Cleveland when the time comes.⁣

The first new GCRTA railcar is officially en route to Cleveland, marking an important milestone in our Railcar Replacement Program and the long-term investment in a safer, more reliable transit system.⁣
⁣
Its arrival is only the beginning. The new railcars will undergo an extensive process of assembly, testing and preparation before entering passenger service, which is expected to begin on the Red Line in Summer 2027.⁣
