Ever wanted to learn how to drive horses, but weren’t sure where to start? (Gas prices got you down?)

I’m now offering relaxed “Introduction to Carriage Driving” experiences at Celtic Valley Carriage & Farm in Clinton Corners, NY.

Come ride along with me on one of my horses’ regular conditioning drives while I demonstrate the basics of harnessing, hitching, and carriage driving in a real working environment. You’ll get to ask questions, learn about the horses and equipment, and experience what it actually feels like to travel behind a forward, fit driving horse on a beautiful 3.8 mile countryside loop.

This is designed for:
• complete beginners
• horse people curious about driving
• people who miss horses but no longer ride
• anyone who has always secretly wanted to try it

No experience necessary, and no pressure or commitment to continue with lessons afterward.

Think of it as part carriage ride, part behind-the-scenes stable experience, and part introduction to a very old and wonderful skill.

Most drives are best suited for one guest, though two people can sometimes be accommodated if comfortable sharing a close seat.

$60 solo
$95 for two people

(EDIT: it labeled this as “AI Info” — I took a photo that had a construction barrier in it and had AI remove the barrier so that’s probably what it’s picking up on. It’s a real photo otherwise)

Someone tried to scam me over the course of last month with a fake “wedding booking” and a counterfeit check.

Plot twist:
They accidentally routed it through the Nigerian Dwarf Fraud Prevention Department.

Case was handled swiftly.

No funds lost.
No services rendered.
Check thoroughly… processed.

Moral of the story:
You can’t fleece a goatherd.

We interrupt this program to bring you the most ridiculous display of antics by the Gremlin (the tricolor), Gráinne (the golden), and Pooka (the black who still looks like a cryptid from shedding at the moment)

🌱🌿 The Turning of the Carriage Wheel 🌿🌱

As the season turns, so does the wheel.

Celtic Valley Carriage & Farm is moving out of Middletown, to the Clinton Corners / Stanfordville area. The road curves, the wheel turns, and the work continues.

This next chapter brings new ground beneath our feet and fresh space for what wants to grow. Familiar experiences will return, and new ideas will begin to take shape as the path opens. Details will emerge naturally in the days and weeks ahead. Keep watch for exciting updates as we are finally allowed to blossom into our next phase of growth.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has shared the road with us so far, and will be holding special friends close as we continue onward. We look forward to what this turn of the wheel brings.

Stay tuned. 🌾
