The next Capt's class starts on March 8th in Post Falls, Idaho at North Idaho College of Workforce Training for the OUPV (6 Pack) Course. The Master's 100 Ton upgrade starts immediately following the end of the OUPV Course on March 22nd. Sign up today and ensure that you get a seat. Class size is limited to 16 persons each due to the COVID19 Restrictions and ALL STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK IN THE CLASSROOM AT ALL TIMES PER THE COLLEGE POLICY. SIGN UP PROCEDURE:
Once you have clicked the link provided above, the North Idaho College Website will pop up. Then follow these easy steps:
1. Create a "New Student" profile. If you can't figure this out right away, don't worry, you'll have another chance after getting to the class sign-up.
2. On the left-hand side of the screen, click on "Industry and Trades" and a menu drop down appears.
3. Click on "Maritime" and both classes will appear side by side. Follow the directions and "Add to Cart" and you're home free. NOTE: If you do all of this prior to creating the "New Student" button you will have to repeat steps 2 and 3.

2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. To celebrate Bighorn Canyon has partnered with Powell Valley Community Education and Wyoming Humanities to host a 3 part speaker series and panel discussion focused on the importance of public lands.

Our first speaker will be Brooks Jordan, Wyoming State Parks District Manger. He will will discuss Wyoming State Parks, the renewed effort to promote recreation in the state, and his perspective on why public lands are important.

Please join us at the Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center in Lovell Wyoming January 16 at 6:30 PM.

The remaining schedule is as follows:

February 20, 6:30 PM, Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center: Matthew Kauffman with the U.S. Geological Survey will discuss the Wyoming Migration project and how Public Lands are essential to the movement of wildlife in Wyoming.

March 19, 6:30 PM, Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center: Douglas Smith, Senior Wildlife Biologist at Yellowstone National Park will discuss the importance of public land to wolves, elk, birds, and other wildlife in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

April 9, 6:30 PM, Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center: The speaker series will end with a panel discussion. Facilitator, David Peck, Editor of the Lovell Chronicle, will be asking the expert panelists up to ten questions to inspire conversations among the panelists.
