[Update 8/14/2026: On 8/13 MDT upgraded the traffic signals for the northbound left-turn lane onto MT 40 from US 2 and the southbound left-turn lane from Halfmoon Rd onto US 2/MT 40. Both the north and southbound lanes now have a protected-only left-turn arrow.]

⚠️ Columbia Falls – This week, the left-turn signal onto Halfmoon Rd from MT 40 will change based on community feedback and crash trends. The eastbound left-turn lane will change to a protected-only turn to enhance safety at the intersection. The flashing yellow turn arrow will be removed, and left turns will only be allowed when a green arrow is displayed. Please use extra caution at this intersection as everyone adjusts. Stay tuned for future changes to the north- and south-bound turn signals.
