Heads up if you haven't ridden Remy's Ratatouille Adventure lately. It used to be a 3D experience, glasses and all, but a lot of guests found it hard on the stomach. It's now 2D. Better for many, yes. Totally tummy-friendly? Not quite.
It's an adorable, trackless ride in the gorgeous France pavilion, no height requirement, so the whole family can shrink down to Remy size together. But since you're Remy size, there's a lot of spinning, simulated drops, and darting around, so if you're motion-sensitive, hold off on that crepe or gelato until after. There's always a chicken exit, so the queue alone is worth a walk-through.

We're officially halfway to the holidays. Want to know why I'll sometimes steer you toward Disneyland over Walt Disney World at Christmastime? One big reason: the festivities are included in your park ticket. The decorations, the parade, and the attraction overlays don't require a separate hard-ticket party. That takes real pressure off the budget.
You'll find "it's a small world" Holiday, Haunted Mansion Holiday, and the Storybook Land Canal Boats all dressed up, plus a castle that still gets its lights. And because the parks are compact, a long weekend does the trick.

Living with the Land at EPCOT quietly wins almost everyone over. It's fifteen glorious minutes of air-conditioned, low-key edutainment floating past real greenhouses and growing systems, a future farmer's dream and an overheated parent's reward.

Today Cafe at Universal!
Most people walk into Today Cafe expecting coffee, a pastry, and not much else, which is a shame, because it's one of the more solid quick-service spots in Universal Studios.
Here's the pro tip: it sits right at the front of the park, so it gets overlooked at lunch. That means shorter lines, open tables, and a quieter spot to map out your afternoon. Skip the crush at Minion Cafe and spread out with a pastrami platter, a caprese, or a brisket sandwich. Theme-park food doesn't have to feel like theme-park food.

There is so much more to Disney's Fort Wilderness than people realize, but today I just need to tell you about the Segway tour.
The Wilderness Back Trail Adventure is about two hours (training included, thank goodness), gliding along dirt paths and nature trails through Bay Lake and Tri-Circle Ranch, with your guide dropping Disney history along the way. Riders need to be at least 16, and pricing starts around $90 to $99, bookable up to 60 days out.
This is exactly the kind of "resort day" I love building into a trip: a break from the parks without losing the adventure. The dad in your crew would probably love it.

I bet you've walked right past this one. Schwab's Pharmacy inside Universal Studios is so well themed that most people don't realize it's an actual ice cream shop. Old-school soda fountain, classic milkshakes, malts, Coke floats, and a banana split worth sharing. The only "medicine" here comes with a cherry on top.
It's inspired by the famous Hollywood Schwab's, and it's the perfect reminder that some of the best theme-park moments are tucked into the details we rush past. Take a minute, grab a stool, and soak up the vintage cool.

Want to make a Disney trip feel longer? Slow down.
One of the biggest vacation regrets I help clients avoid is never leaving time to just be there, racing from Lightning Lane to Lightning Lane, speed-walking the park, and checking the app every five minutes. Do the must-do rides, absolutely. But also wander. Notice the music loops. Watch the candy kitchen artists at work. Grab a snack and a bench and actually look around.
The goal was never "do everything." It's enjoying where you are while you're there. When we plan together, we build the pace in on purpose, busy where you want it and slow where you need it.

Disney date night, no park ticket required.
The Basket at W**e Bar George in Disney Springs lets you grab small plates and drinks to go: hummus and pita, crispy mac and cheese bites, hand pies, a cheese and meat box, plus w**e, c***r, and frozen drinks. Build your own little picnic, then go find a spot. I'd carry mine straight over to the Performance Stage across from World of Disney, where there's seating and usually live music.
Quieter, elevated, and a little bougie in the best way. After dinner: Aerophile, a movie, or just people-watching by the water.
