It’s new, ready for winter at CMH, and soon, it’ll have a name of its own.

MTE 313 will lead the pack as part of Snow Force One, helping our Airfield Maintenance team clear runways and keep the airport moving when winter weather hits.

But “MTE 313” isn’t exactly catchy. That’s where you come in.

UPDATE: The road is opening back up. Please continue to use caution and allow extra time as traffic readjusts.

⚠️ TRAFFIC ALERT: Sawyer Road is currently closed near the airport due to a gas leak. Travelers should use I-670/I-270 to access the airport until further notice.

Traffic backups are occurring in the area, so please allow extra time to get to the airport and arrive earlier than usual. We’ll share updates as they become available.

Let’s take a driver’s-eye look at the new terminal exit configuration from the garage!

Here’s what else you need to know:

➡️ Leaving the terminal: If you’re dropping off or picking up at the curb, you’ll drive through the curbside area as usual. At the new traffic light near the terminal exit, follow the lanes toward the side road by the hotels. From there:
• Turn left for I-670/I-270
• Turn right for Sawyer Road/Hamilton Road

🚦 Watch for new traffic lights: Please use caution as everyone gets familiar with the new configuration and pay close attention to signals and posted signage.

🔄 Coming from Sawyer Road/Hamilton Road: Drivers can no longer turn directly toward the terminal from International Gateway. You’ll need to continue to the Red Lot roadway, loop around and approach the terminal from the other direction.

If you have the option, we highly recommend using I-270/I-670 to reach the terminal. It’ll save you some time and avoid the additional loop.

Take it slow, follow the signs and give yourself a little extra time as everyone adjusts to the new traffic pattern.

The new terminal is getting closer and closer… literally 👀

Take a drive with us along the updated International Gateway. This new permanent roadway is now in place and will become the arrivals drive (baggage claim) when the new terminal opens in 2029.
