We had a rare treat on the ramp last week with this special brand-new Navy Bell Boeing CMV-22B Osprey on its way from the factory to its home base in Virginia.

This incredible tiltrotor aircraft is the Navy's newest long-range aerial logistics workhorse. It combines the vertical takeoff and hovering capabilities of a helicopter with the speed and range of a turboprop plane. Specifically designed for "Carrier Onboard Delivery" (COD), its main job is ferrying high-priority cargo, mail, and personnel from shore bases directly to aircraft carriers out at sea.

It's going to be very hot this holiday weekend. Please take precautions and understand it's much hotter on pavement areas (including aircraft parking aprons), so pack extra patience if flying during this time, as it may take a little longer for ramp and airline crews to service and turn aircraft.
