Well better late than never. I finally finished writing and laying out the travelogue for the epic, round the world, motorcycle trip that myself, Michael Winn and Nicky Stix took in 2016 on KLR 650's. Life threw me several curveballs that delayed me being able to focus but the pandemic gave me the time to organize the voluminous photos and videos and write about the whole experience. It's a rather long read but I'd love to hear your thoughts and I hope it inspires you all to get out of your comfort zones and challenge your fears like this trip forced us to do.

We made it to the east coast and to my (Tim's) traditional family vacation at Fenwick Island DE. This has been the goal the whole trip and from the start the motorcycle trip was just a way of avoiding air travel during COVID to make it to this special place. Ironically We're both traveling back to LA via airplane due to issues with our motorcycles (damn KTM!) This journey from the start has shifted from it's original intent due to motorcycle issues, injuries and as a final "f # you" I lost the thumb drive that had all the helmet can footage for just about the whole trip at our last stop in Virginia. These things never go as planned. That's why they call it "adventure motorcycling"

Loose gravel/steep incline/on a curve/. Bike kicked out from under me as I apparently missed my shift. Left thumb laceration at distal tip and TTP at MCP joint. Shout out to my tennis pals Samantha PK and Doctor G for their virtual medical assistance! Riding pavement for a few days to give it a rest. @ Conway, Arkansas

In the first and still most widespread mode of human communication, this little nugget of wisdom was passed down to us in “oral tradition” by a rotund silver-haired woman in a single pump gas station somewhere just east of the Ozarks. She had apparently learned this valuable life lesson not from her schooling, but from her papa who had spent the better part of his life perched high and wide in the cab of a tractor-trailer truck. Grateful for her encouragement, and noting that we still actually did have more than half a tank of gas at our disposal, I courteously replied... No Mam, we are in fact fu***ng lost”. @ Ozark Mountains

We started the day high in the Rockies in Lake City, CO (the most remote town in the lower 48), and ended the day in the Southern Colorado city of Trinidad, where we took our 1st and only rest day. We’ve been riding consecutively for 15 days without a break so we were exhausted. We had a wonderful day of riding dirt and some of Colorado's legendary byways. We hate to leave this beautiful state but we must keep moving east! Looking forward to riding some more of the TAT tomorrow and making our way through New Mexico and into the panhandle of Oklahoma.
