Corpus Christi’s bayfront has always been our city’s front porch, but back in the 1950s, the view looked a whole lot different.
Before today’s high-rises shaped the skyline, downtown sat much lower along the water. The seawall and marina were already a huge part of life in Corpus Christi, with boats filling the bay and families cruising downtown or gathering along the waterfront to enjoy that South Texas breeze.
Fast-forward 70+ years and the buildings are taller, the skyline has changed, and the marina has evolved, but some things haven’t changed at all.
The water.
The breeze.
The seawall.
And generations of Corpus Christi families making memories along the bay. 💜
For those who grew up here: what old Corpus Christi building or landmark do you remember most?
