YOU SHARED. WE LISTENED.
Island Transit is exploring a series of proposed service changes for September designed to improve frequency, strengthen ferry connections, and create more reliable travel options throughout Island County.

While our Long-Range Plan remains underway, we have continued hearing consistent feedback from riders, commuters, employees, students, and community members about the need for improved connections, expanded frequency, and more dependable service to key destinations, including the ferry terminals. Based on this feedback, Island Transit is evaluating several potential updates now rather than waiting for the completion of the Long-Range Plan.

Proposed changes include increased frequency on Routes 1 and 60, improved coordination between routes, earlier morning trips for commuters, and expanded service throughout South Whidbey. Some proposed adjustments may also require riders to transfer differently than they do today, particularly in the Freeland and Bayview areas.

These changes are not final.

Community feedback plays an important role in sharing the final proposal. Island Transit encourages riders and community members to review the proposed changes, attend meetings, and share their feedback in person, online, or via email [email protected]

Your feedback helps guide the future of transit on Whidbey and Camano Islands. Check the website for more details. https://www.islandtransit.org/proposed-service-changes

When the crowds showed up for Holland Happening and the Whidbey Marathon, so did our crew 💙

From early mornings to packed buses and everything in between, our team showed what community looks like in motion. Literally - in motion- as they joined the marathon - running, jogging, and walking. It was about doing it together, with patience, teamwork, and a few laughs … maybe muscle cramps too!

Big weekends like this don’t run on schedules alone, they run in people who look out for each other and the riders they serve.

Gratefully for this team, the friendships behind the scenes, and the community we get to be part of every day. .
