🇺🇸 I still remember one of my first trips to downtown Chicago after moving to the United States.
Of course, I wanted to explore the city, experience the culture, and eat at a nice restaurant.
We parked the car... and then I saw the parking price.
$25 an hour.
Coming from Europe, that felt incredibly expensive. If we wanted to spend four or five hours walking around, visiting attractions, and having dinner, parking alone could cost over $100.
I remember thinking...
"How often will I be able to come here?"
A few months later, after I started making friends, someone shared a tip that completely changed my experience.
They introduced me to parking apps like SpotHero and ParkWhiz.
These apps let you search for parking before you arrive, compare prices at nearby garages and lots, and reserve your parking spot in advance. In many places, I found daily rates that were much cheaper than paying the hourly rate at the entrance.
It saved me money, reduced stress, and made visiting the city much more enjoyable.
❤️ One thing I've learned since moving to America is this:
Sometimes the difference between an expensive day and an affordable one is simply knowing which app to use or who to ask.
Now I'd love to hear from you!
