Gastonia Fire Department Today, multiple Gastonia Fire Department crews worked alongside our newly hired firefighters during live fire training, providing valuable hands-on experience in a realistic fire environment. Training alongside experienced personnel helps build the skills, confidence, and teamwork needed to serve our community safely and effectively.

Let’s show our appreciation to these guys who put their lives on the line for our community.

U-HAUL IS ABOUT TO PUT EVERYBODY IN A PETERBILT

There was a time when seeing a Peterbilt meant something.
Long hood. Chrome. An actual working truck.
Now U-Haul has partnered with Peterbilt to roll out a new 29-foot moving truck called the Easy Mover, and the craziest part?
No CDL required.
Anybody with a regular driver’s license can rent one.
That’s going to light the trucking world up.
For decades, Peterbilt represented professional drivers, owner-operators, and people who lived on the road.
Now somebody can rent one for the weekend to move a couch across town.
Some people are going to love it.
Some old-school truckers are going to lose their minds.
Because to a lot of drivers, a Peterbilt was never just a truck.
It meant something.
Now imagine pulling into a truck stop next to a family hauling apartment furniture in one.
That’s where trucking is heading.
The lines between commercial trucking and consumer transportation keep getting thinner.
And whether drivers like it or not, the industry keeps changing.
