October 10th, Day 38
Got up early and drove 2.5 hours from Gardnerville Nevada over through the Eldorado National Forest to Lodi California for the Wild Horses Roundup Swap Meet.
Stopped at a few beautiful overlooks as the sun was coming up.
Got to Wild Horses at about 8:30, but should have probably left an hour or two earlier since it was pretty full when I got there. I set up for a couple hours and sold a few things before packing up and walking around a bit, and meeting up with Mitch Creel to get the tour of their place since I'd never been there before. Got to see and chat with several people I know and finally caught up with Jim Creel before I took off just before noon.
Stopped at a great little Mexican restaurant just down the street from Wild Horses and grabbed some lunch. Instead of free chips and salsa, they had free tostadas and ceviche, so that was a winner right off the bat for me! Then I got a really good seafood dish with shrimp, squid, octopus, and abolone in a spicy sauce served in a pineapple. That was excellent as well.
Now it's time to hit the road back over to Gardnerville on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe so I can reorganize and swap out my Bronco merch and get my camping and off road gear in the Bronco so I'm ready to hit the Rubicon Trail in a day or two.
The weather is calling for temps to drop tomorrow and for snow at that elevation, glad I brought my down sleeping bag!
