So I got this old carriage. I’m either going to move it out Florida very soon or sell it.
This thing is freakin sweet! It was built specially for Lucy Coleman Carnegie and has extensive provenance and records all tracing back to Fernandina beach Amelia/ Cumberland island area. It’s a “JB” Brewster which by itself probably belongs in a museum but the story it has really makes it special.
If I know anyone in that area I would really love to see it stay there and even be used. It spent many years in a museum and I’d also be fine with it ending up back at a local museum. Next in line will be offered to my acquaintances then I will probably put it up for general sale to the highest bidder. It has never been shown or offered publicly to the horse carriage community so I’m a little reserved to take that last step. I’d really like to do what’s right for it before I do what’s right for me so if you have any suggestions or leads to someone who may be interested please feel free to share.
