🌟 Team Spotlight: Payroll 🌟

This week, we're recognizing the incredible team that helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Amy Schwartzkopf (left) has been with SIMX for nearly a year, while Destynee Harvey (right) is approaching a year and a half with the company. Together, they make up a payroll team that is dependable, hardworking, and always willing to jump in wherever help is needed.

Amy appreciates the friendly atmosphere at SIMX and the way employees support one another. She's grateful to work for a company that treats its people well—and if you've ever had one of her homemade cookies, you know that's just one more reason we're glad she's here!

Destynee describes SIMX as "a fantastic place to work," citing the supportive team environment and shared commitment to getting things done efficiently. Her quick wit and sense of humor keep all of us smiling throughout the day.

What stands out most about Amy and Destynee is their willingness to go above and beyond. Whether it's payroll duties or helping in other areas of the company, they consistently step up with positive attitudes and a team-first mindset.

It's been a while since we did a spotlight so we'll spotlight two of Cape's best.

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Matt & Cynthia — one of our favorite husband-and-wife duos.

Matt has been with SIMX for 5 years and has built a reputation for being dependable, easy to work with, and the kind of driver customers specifically ask for by name. When customers request him on deliveries, it says a lot about the service he provides every day.

Cynthia is wrapping up her first year with us and has fit right in from day one.

Fun fact: when they’re not trucking, Matt plays in a band — and Cynthia has even appeared in some of his music videos 🎶

Driver of the Week 🚛

Shoutout to James, who’s been rolling strong with SIMX for over 3 years. Reliable, helpful, and always putting safety first—he’s the kind of driver you can count on, no questions asked.

On top of that, he keeps us laughing with a steady supply of jokes… and an equally steady supply of Le Sueur peas straight from the can. That’s how he earned the nickname “Can O’ Peas” 😂

James started driving in 1987 with a plan to do it for a while and figure out what he really wanted to do. 39 years later—with a self-proclaimed PhD in pneumatic tankology from the University of YouTube—he’s still trucking!

After all these years, Can O’ Peas says he still loves the job because no two days are the same. It’s also given him the opportunity to raise his eight children and see them through college. He appreciates that SIMX keeps him in modern equipment, and that the shop techs and dispatch are always helpful and friendly.

Just shy of 29 years behind the wheel with us, Rodney represents what this job is all about — faith, family, and showing up every day ready to do the work. Running Canada routes isn’t for the faint of heart, but Rodney has handled the miles with the same reliability and steady attitude for nearly three decades.

He’s the kind of driver you can count on no matter the weather, the distance, or the load. A strong family man, a man of faith, and a true professional on the road.
