Thanks for featuring our very own as owner of the week! (Link in bio)

It’s a fun story how we ended up in the RV rental business. And what is most exciting is what we have on the horizon. We have been working hard on a new project and we hope we can share some details with you soon. Stay tuned!

📣TEEEETONS!

If you read earlier in the week our logo and are history have roots in The Tetons.

But it is also just an incredible place to visit which is why we are celebrating it on and .

The nature scene that I am most relaxed in is a beautiful mountain lake and there is no shortage of that here. And not to mention the spill over of wildlife you expect from Yellowstone that you can also find here. Bison, Moose, Elk, and Bears (oh my!)

We recommend staying at Colter Bay! Book REALLY early if you want to snag a spot that has hookups. Or prepare for some dry camping and show up early for awesome first come first serve RV spots. The layout is unique and you get a fully wooded semi private space to enjoy. And the best part is there is a small trail from the campground to this spot here with stunning views in Jackson Lake with a pretty rock beach to take a swim.

And if you fancy and sans RV.... splurge and stay at Jenny Lake Lodge!

Gather around for story time my friends 😊

We are continuing our celebration of with the park nearest to our hearts

If you aren’t familiar with the history of let me take you back to 1972.

It was the original vision of my Papa Charlie to create a camp where kids could actually camp and experience our country’s and the beautiful places in between in a traveling summer camp. After taking out one ad in the he had the 1972 camp filled. He still calls that summer the best time of his life and if you know my Papa Charlie you know the campers felt the same.

Unfortunately there was an oil crisis in 1973 and gas for a cross country trip was going to be impossible. So he had to make the tough decision to walk away from the camp.

We wanted to recreate this camp in 2020 but like my Papa before we were also hit with our own crisis. Hello

So I’m still keeping the core value of helping others get outside we pivoted to renting RV’s and helping people with their trip planning.

The Tetons are my papa’s favorite place which is why you will find the range in the original ad and logo. Staying true to the origins of the camp we also use the mountain range in our logo today.

If you swipe right you will see the original books my papa used to plan the trip. Before google maps, , , etc.

He sent them to me prior to our scouting trip last year and they are absolute treasures to me.

The pictures we have been sharing to celebrate national parks are mostly from our trip across country last year where we did our best to follow his original routes and campgrounds that he meticulously documented.

We will share more about the but had to share why it is so important to us!

Happy National Park Week!
Don’t forget that today is a fee free day so take advantage if you can!

We are celebrating today with the nations first National Park, Yellowstone!

A place so nice the Vagabond team did it twice!

We had such a magical experience in 2013 watching the sunset at Lewis Lake (swipe right 👉when camera phones pics were nothing like today 😥) that we planned our second trip to insure we were there again at Sunset and it didn’t disappoint!

Yes go see Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, pull over for wildlife sitings - it’s all incredible. But also make sure you find the special and quiet spots that move you while your there.

What am going to try to convince you to go next?

!

💙Why we love it: Second only to Yellowstone for wildlife viewing. (We honestly got a little too close to an Elk heard after being still for 20 min as they got closer and closer)

🏕Where to stay: Book REALLY early and get a spot at Aspen Glenn in the park! And take the because you have to be under 30 ft. If not, it is popular to stay in Estes Park but we really prefer staying on Grand Lake on the other side of the park. The lake and views are beautiful and it is more quaint and quiet. There is an RV park called that is probably a mile from the entrance to the park. And they have horses and horse rides! If not RVing we also love

🥾What to do: Drive Old Fall River Road for breathtaking views up above the tundra. Stop before you get to the Alpine Visitors Center to listen to the chatter of the Yellow Belly Marmots and take in the views without the tourists.

🦌Wildlife Viewing: Go sit near Holzwarth Historic Site just before dusk for a chance to see the elk heard like we did. And a moose family if your lucky!

🎣We had a guide from named Jim we loved!

🧂What to eat: to eat just feet from the River Rapids. So peaceful!

Breakfast with a view in our a Big Bertha trailer at Palo Dura Canyon.
Important note: This campground was devastated a few days ago by tornados but thankfully no one was injured thanks to a nearby tornado shelter. The RV’s were a different story. Those can be replaced but lives cannot and for that we are grateful. If anyone knows any of the campers impacted we would love to help if we can. Maybe we can offer a camper free of charge for their next trip while they wait on a replacement? Insurance takes time and their is a shortage of campers to purchase out there so I don’t anticipate they will be able to quickly replace. Let us know if you know someone we can personally help! Hoping we can make social media work for good!
