Something you never want to have happen at Disney World happened to us yesterday. I have to give a shout out to the nursing staff in First Aid at Epcot. 🏥
Ava’s little brother hit her over the head with a Figment bubble blower and within seconds the side of her head was soaked in blood and it was running down her neck and onto her shirt. Her hair was drenched and I was convinced she had a big gaping wound under there. Ryan grabbed napkins and it soaked through a stack within seconds. A cast member saw what was happening and told us where the nearest First Aid was. We speed walked from Connections to First Aid while holding pressure on her head. The cast member must have called over there because the nurses were waiting for us at the door.
They took us to the back right away and had me continue to hold pressure on her head with gauze. The nurses quickly found where the cut was and thankfully it was a tiny cut that was just very vascular. The nurses cleaned her hair and tried to make her feel like a princess despite having her head wrapped in gauze and a head wrap. After the whole ordeal, they gave us a certificate for a free shirt at the Connections store since hers had blood on it.
Ava was so brave as always and barely even cried. The nurses kept telling her how impressed they were with her and made her feel comfortable the entire time. If you have to go to First Aid, you’re in good hands! We were impressed with the experience but are totally fine never having to go back there again.
If you need First Aid at Epcot, you’ve probably walked past it. The one we went to is at the Odyssey, which is the floating restaurant connected to the space section of the park. You can always search on the app, but in the moment you might not think to do that. Any cast member will be able to help you too.
