My heart aches watching this video.
Team Volusia would never pull away from a stop without waiting for students to be clear of the bus, with all mirrors and blind spots checked for safety.

The union will return to negotiate with the board for a BIGGER RAISE for the 2022/2023 school year starting in May. THIS vote is for the 2021/2022 school year, retroactively. Vote YES!

While both are wonderful articles, the writer bases the pay on a neighboring county that pays $15 an hour, making $30k a year at 40 hours.

This math is incorrect. We are paid for 180 school days at $13 an hour, which equates to HALF of what they mentioned — $30+k).

Last year, during COVID, without field trips, I made $15.2k for that year. And I have a toddler and a house. It is not enough for a CDL holder, when our license is worth more elsewhere.

Please read both articles, however. They are very well written. 🥰
