Welcome CSRers, I am glad to be back after a very long hiatus. A lot has happened over the last almost nine years. I became a grandpa which is very special to me. But no excuses for the hiatus. With that said I am back and will be spending more time chasing this fall. I do a lot of virtual and still search for trains in my travels.

I do want to give a big shout out to the railfans and folks I met outside of Pana on Tuesday 9/10. We were chasing and shooting the 4014 and everyone was super pleasant and friendly. I'd like to give another shout out to the two guys from Decatur, Ill. Good meeting you and I think you might have just liked the page.

Tonight, I will start with some shots of 4014 that I took from outside of Pana and in the mass of humanity called Nokomis. There are a lot of heads in the Nokomis pictures. If you chased 4014 you know what I am talking about.

Welcome CSRers, I had my second computer crash and it took Dell 16 days to fix a brand new unit. UGH !!!
So the last 2 days have been amazing. 3 Heritage Units graced our presence in Decatur , Illinois.
First shot came to us from Chris Mauzy. Thank You Chris, excellent shot from James street. Second and third shots I did from Harristown, Illinois. The NS8099 Southern unit was on the 255 to Voltz yard in K.C. This was today. 12 09 2015
The next shots were from Wabic in Decatur, Illinois. NS1073 Penn Central Heritage Unit was on the 398 ending in Decatur. 12 08 2015
NS911 Heritage Unit came in Tuesday morning 12 08 2015 on the 35N. It will be the lead power for the Santa Train this coming weekend. Talked with a train master and found that both the F units from Monticello will be behind the 911. This will be very exciting. 12 12 2015 and 12 13 2015.

Interesting mix of power. First we have the CIT,CEFX and AVR. The AVR is the Appalachian Valley Railroad sister railroad of SWP which is South Western Pennsylvania railroad. And the NS6920 lashed with NS7322 in UP colors. SD90MAC and 6920 was west of the fueling rack in Decatur , Illinois.

Something about 2 UPs on the NS tracks. Also, SD80MAC 7210. Rare to find around these parts !!!

This post is dedicated to contributor Dave Ritter.He shot these in the last month or so. First are the Keokuk Lines A-B-A. These were shot at Kingston Mines, southwest of Peoria. Then some shots from behind the NS office buildings. Called Condit/Folk streets.Ahhhh yes the Directv blimp over Wabic. Thanks Dave.
We will be posting some of Dave's pics from the last 30-40 years. Some really great shots.
Well I am off to catch up with my bud Kevin Sies. He has been tracking NS8103 ( N&W ) heritage unit. It came into Decatur and dropped off hoppers to the local grain company. Now unassigned and in the NS yard. Happy Railfanning everyone !!!

Wabic has been very productive the last 3 days. First, the LED signals are going up and being wired. All part of the PTC movement around the country.Those of you who only see Wabic once or twice a year, will be in for a big surprise. Next the 32Q , my favorite, produced a dazzling array of power and 86 1/2 footers.Q had NS7306 SD90MAC, NS9252 Operation Lifesaver,and a brand new rebuilt Herzog Generator car HZGX 211.Now when it comes to foaming, this is what I foam over the most. The infamous 8 door 86 1/2 feet boxcar. Wow !!! Just love these!!! SP 616558 All in all a very nice 3 days.

Hanging out at Wabic talking with Micah, when, 2 UPs come around the corner.I look at Micah and say " Oh 2 UPs " took a second look and said " What's that orange 3rd unit ? " We both looked at each other and said " Oh S--- " It can't be , oh and it was. The UP1996 was that 3rd unit. I have chased this units ghost in Illinois. WHAT A SURPRISE !!!
