💞It’s a new baby manatee!💞
Exciting News! Manatee “Jaden” was recently seen with a tiny new calf near Holly Bluff Resort Marina. 🎉
Jaden is a known manatee who winters at Blue Spring State Park and researchers from Save the Manatee Club were able to identify her by her scars. Jaden is an experienced mother, but was badly injured a few years ago from a watercraft collision where she lost a large portion of her tail.
🚤Please be careful when boating and always watch out for manatees!
🕶 Wear polarized sunglasses, have a designated spotter and slow down in manatee zones and shallow areas. If you see a manatee, observe from a distance and give mothers and calves extra space.

A new baby calf was spotted at the marina last week! 🥰Always keep an eye out for manatees while boating — they are out there!

Yesterday morning, we received a call about an injured manatee near our marina.

Most folks might not realize rescuing a manatee can take hours, or even days. Locating the animal, monitoring its condition, and safely recovering it requires teamwork between wildlife professionals, boat operators, and volunteers.

After a coordinated effort, the manatee was successfully rescued and transported for care.

If you ever see an injured, sick, or distressed manatee, report it immediately to the FWC Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922). Quick reporting can make a big difference in getting these animals the help they need.

Manatees are part of life on the St. Johns River, and protecting them is a community effort. 💙 We’re wishing this gentle giant a full recovery and we will post an update when we know.
