Alaska in Review: Sea Day
It takes a hot minute to get to Alaska, even from Vancouver, so our first full day was spent at sea.
We started with an educational session called “Our Journey North” and learned more about what we’d be seeing throughout the week. If you’re sailing Alaska for the first time, these sessions are worth fitting in.
Then we headed to Palo.
Palo is an adults-only dining experience with an incredible brunch and Italian-inspired food. It’s also the only restaurant on the Disney Wonder with an added cost.
Then we went to work. I know, I know. The lines between work and vacation get blurry in this field. 😂
The Cove, an adults-only coffee lounge, is one of my favorite spots onboard to grab a drink, find a quieter space, and get a few things done.
I battled some seasickness throughout the day, which isn’t normal for me. Thankfully, Guest Services keeps medication on hand if you need it in a pinch. Even if you don’t usually get seasick, it never hurts to be prepared.
Even if I was feeling bad, it was hard to stay there because Bradley won BINGO! 🎉
That evening, we had dinner at Triton’s and saw The Golden Mickeys, an awards-style show celebrating Disney classics and their music.
Before bed, we had one final task. Change the clocks.
The whole trip, I struggled to remember that I was multiple hours behind my family in Wisconsin and friends on the East Coast. Alaska time definitely took some getting used to.
Sea days sometimes get overlooked, but they are just as magical as port days and shouldn’t be overlooked!
