A Pumpkin Full of Creativity! 🖌️🎃

This morning, our Senior Art Class put their creativity and imagination to work decorating our office pumpkin—and they did a great job! From spooky ghosts and bats to a wonderfully mischievous black cat, their artistic talents really shine. 👻🐈‍⬛

Thank you to everyone who helped make our pumpkin so festive and fun! We love seeing the creativity and smiles our art classes bring to Bethlehem Senior Services. ❤️🍂

🍎 This morning, Robert and his father, Phillip, generously donated fresh Honeycrisp apples from their own apple trees to the Bethlehem Food Pantry!

We’re grateful for their thoughtfulness and generosity in helping provide fresh, local produce to neighbors in our community.

This morning, our staff attended Healthy Aging Day at the Capital District YMCA- Bethlehem! 💙

Staying active, connected, and engaged is an important part of aging well. Today was all about celebrating the many ways we can support our health and wellness at every stage of life.

Thanks to our staff and everyone who stopped by to learn more about healthy aging and the resources available in our community.

We’re excited to announce that our community partner, Friends of Bethlehem Seniors, formerly known as Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc., has officially changed its name! 💙

For those unfamiliar with the organization, Friends of Bethlehem Seniors is the nonprofit partner of Town of Bethlehem Senior Services. They raise funds to purchase vehicles for our volunteer drivers, which are then donated to the Town. They also support social and wellness programs, provide emergency heating assistance to residents aged 60 and older, and help keep the Town Hall Food Pantry stocked for Bethlehem residents and families experiencing food insecurity.

📣 BIG NEWS: WE HAVE A NEW NAME!

Older adults in Bethlehem want to stay independent in their own homes. But a missed ride to the doctor, days without talking to anyone, an empty refrigerator, or an unheated home in January can put that at risk.

For nearly 40 years, we've been working to change that as Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. Starting today, we're Friends of Bethlehem Seniors.

Same mission, same partnership with Town of Bethlehem Senior Services. The new name just makes it clear who we are: the not-for-profit friends behind Town of Bethlehem Senior Services. We raise money to buy the cars and vans volunteers drive, donate them to the Town, and fund social and wellness programs and emergency heating help for residents 60 and older. We also keep the Town Hall Food Pantry stocked for any Bethlehem resident or family facing emergency food needs.

To kick things off, meet Christine, one of our wonderful Van Assistants! For the past eight years, she has volunteered her time helping seniors and has formed many meaningful friendships along the way. She shares how rewarding it is to help others and hear the stories of the seniors she meets.

Bethlehem Senior Services is looking for compassionate, dependable volunteer drivers to help older adults get to medical appointments, grocery shopping, senior programs, and community activities.

Whether you can volunteer once a month or several times a month, your time can help a neighbor remain healthy, independent, and connected.
