Shew crazy week…..
Lots of phone calls for good loads(more than normal)
Loads cancelled
Copping with actually being half a century old
Outer bearing failure causing axle replacement along with brakes ,hub/drum, and tire
Lost two days of potential loads not counting a potential weekend load
Middle of the night extreme fog that was freezing to the truck.

Still hit our average ( not our goal)….

However I’m very grateful we were able to find a great price on an axle in stock only 1 tank of fuel away, and it was all blue skies with temps near 70° where we did all the repair work.
I’m extremely grateful I was able to find enough parts to do temp fix allowing us to get the load delivered on time.

DONT LET THE HARD DAYS WIN !!!!

What a day…. But GOD did it again!
Made twice as many phone calls this morning trying to book a load. Finally pulled off a good load around 10am then find out it delayed till 2. Ok no problem I’ll just go get coffee and lunch. Pull in at shipper just before 2. Go check in only to find it’s been cancelled!!! Knowing I wasn’t going to find a load today I was crushed, all kinds of mean rude and frankly nasty thoughts and feelings running throughout my body….. I knew I just needed to go find a parking lot to sit in for a moment.
Mean time Crystal is getting us a pretty decent TONU pushed through and handling paperwork.
I find a place to park and just start to quiet myself and work on getting a clear mind so I could make a decision on where to go and what to do.
About 20 minutes go by, of course I’m still mad but calm at this point and my phone rings ( I almost never answer numbers I don’t know because of crazy amounts of scams) I answered the call. It’s a broker I’ve never worked with, is in a major spot. He has a load that must go and it’s already 2:30 in the afternoon. Negotiates a load paying a few hundred more than what we lost and delivery date is the same.
Ended up with more than enough TONU to cover all dead head miles, booked a better paying load that delivers same day as what we lost.

Moral of the story…. It’s your job to calm yourself and let GOD sort the problem.

What a nerve racking, frustrating, confusing, GREAT birthday…..
