One of the coolest ducks out there! The Hooded Merganser! This drake (male) was showing off his beautiful plumage before using those big webbed feet to quickly swim away.
I wish I was eye level and the lighting was better but these photos will serve a great reference material for an upcoming painting. 🎨 🦆 I’m going to do a series of duck paintings soon. I just can’t decide which species to start with!
