Lookout Mountain Incline Railway
Built in 1895 replacing an older incline nearby this funicular type railway travels 1 mile up Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN. The maximum grade is 72,7% making it one of the steepest railways in the world. Compare to 3% to 6% maximum grade on freight railways. The cars were replaced in 2020 and one of the older cars is on display in the parking lot. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.
