Moving in Arvada, Colorado? Where Can the Moving Truck and the Container Go?
Arvada has its own rules for moving day. In residential areas, the City allows large vehicles (8 feet or wider, 25 feet or longer, or over 10,000 pounds) only while they load, unload or serve a property within 200 feet. A storage container like a POD can sit in your own driveway with no permit. On the street it needs a City right-of-way permit, and the container company must apply. It has to sit at least 35 feet from a corner and 5 feet from a driveway, and the permit covers up to 30 days. Arvada's noise code also bans loading or unloading that disturbs the neighbors between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Moving a shop or office in Olde Town? Plan the truck's spot early: the City says street parking there averages 92% full, and the posted 2- and 4-hour limits run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
