Job Responsibilities:
-Maintain a safe and orderly delivery truck by completing assigned checklist and reporting issues promptly.
-Operate a cube van with ramp or straight truck with lift gate safely to complete assigned transactions and tasks.
-Drive throughout the Des Moines metro area and Central Iowa using a GPS for navigation.
-Manage time taken at each stop accordingly to stay on schedule.
-Deliver, install, move, and/ or assemble items to customers (residential and commercial locations) per company policy
-Safely lift and carry items ranging from 1 to more than 100+ pounds and two man lift items up weighing up to 300 pounds.
-Interact with customers professionally and with respect.
-Accurately complete daily route paper work.
-Complete all end of day procedures such as turning in paperwork and unloading the truck.
Experience Requirements:
We are looking for a solid, reliable worker with a strong work ethic and a positive, engaging personality. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented while still being able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience with exercise equipment delivery, home delivery, and/ or moving preferred, but willing to train the right individual.
-Knowledge and experience using basic hand tools.
-Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record
-Chauffeur's (D-2) or higher driver's license preferred, but willing to train the right person to obtain the required license.
-Ability to lift more than 100+ pounds.
-High School or GED
-Must be 18+ years of age
Work Environment:
-Work day generally falls within the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
-Work inside/outside of our office/ warehouse space, customer homes, customer businesses, and client stores.
-Drive company truck in various differing weather conditions (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall).
-Some exposure to elements (hot/cold weather conditions).
-Repeated periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
-Frequent bending over, crouching, climbing, and kneeling.
-Instances of pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and maneuvering tools, equipment, and product being delivered.
