A military plane at a gas station? ✈️

Meet The Fabulous Flamingo, one of the strangest road-going vehicles you’re likely to come across.

The motorhome was created using the fuselage of a 1940s military aircraft, with the wings removed and the body mounted onto a truck chassis.

The result is a roughly 38-foot-long, 17,000-pound vehicle that combines part airplane, part truck, and part RV, and yes, it’s street-legal.

It was created by former U.S. Air Force serviceman Gino Lucci and his family, turning an old aircraft fuselage into something that could travel the country from the ground instead of the sky.

Would you take this on a road trip?

Before dog food becomes one finished product, its ingredients have to reach production first.

Across U.S. dog-food production, those inbound moves can look very different. Farm and mill-based ingredients may arrive by bulk rail or in bags. Meat and poultry often require refrigerated transport. Protein meals and fats can move in bags, tankers, or drums. Marine ingredients may involve re**er transport or packaged forms.

The four largest ingredient groups shown in this carousel account for an estimated 6.76 million tons at purchase weight in 2024.

The final bag may look simple. The inbound network behind it is not.

It is a good example of why logistics rarely follows one standard playbook. A2B works around the product, equipment requirements, timing, and handoffs needed for each move.

A small National Dog Day reminder: even the products we rarely think about have a supply chain behind them.

Brake safety starts long before a roadside inspection.

From August 23–29, CVSA-certified inspectors across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico will conduct commercial vehicle inspections with added attention on brake drums and rotors. Vehicles with brake-related out-of-service violations will remain off the road until the issues are corrected. Damaged drums and rotors can reduce braking performance, while broken components may become serious hazards for everyone on the road.

For drivers and carriers, preparation means checking brake components carefully, reporting warning signs early, and addressing defects before dispatch.

At A2B Logistics, we work with vetted carriers that meet established safety, equipment, and insurance requirements. Safe equipment protects the driver, the shipment, and every road user along the route.

Stay alert. Inspect before departure. Never ignore a brake concern.

Retail shipments are tied to one thing that cannot be moved around easily: timing.

Store replenishment, promotional rollouts, and seasonal volume all depend on shipments reaching distribution centers and retail locations within specific receiving windows.

A2B Logistics plans retail transportation around those schedules, with:

β€’ Capacity for high-volume retail lanes
β€’ Pickup and delivery appointment coordination
β€’ Support for store and DC replenishment
β€’ Real-time shipment updates
β€’ Fast response when schedules or conditions change
β€’ 24/7 operational support

From routine replenishment to peak-season surges, the goal is to keep inventory moving according to the schedule your retail network depends on.

Retail shipments planned around store and DC timing.

Power-only support keeps loaded trailers from becoming the delay.

When a trailer is already staged and ready to move, the next step has to be clear: the right tractor, the right timing, and a confirmed plan to get it out of the yard.

A2B Logistics helps shippers manage power-only shipments for trailer pools, drop yards, and high-turn facilities with:

β€’ confirmed pulls
β€’ trailer pool support
β€’ live status updates
β€’ fast escalation when timing changes
β€’ coordination from pickup to delivery

For busy facilities, power-only is not just about finding a tractor. It is about keeping loaded trailers moving without slowing the yard.

Can transport change the taste of wine?

It can.

Wine continues to develop in the bottle. During transit, prolonged heat, sudden temperature changes, direct light, and excessive movement can affect the quality that reaches the customer.

For many wine shipments, the target temperature is around 55–60Β°F (13–16Β°C), but the winery’s required setpoint should always come first. Bottles should remain boxed and protected from direct light, while cases need to be palletized, wrapped, and braced to reduce shifting, breakage, and closure damage.

This is where transportation becomes part of protecting the product. A2B Logistics arranges the right temperature-controlled equipment, follows the required setpoint, and monitors the shipment from pickup through delivery.

The wine should arrive as the winemaker intended.

How can an apple stay crisp for nine months?

The apple on a supermarket shelf may have been harvested months before you picked it up.

After harvest, an apple is still biologically active. It continues to breathe, ripen, and gradually lose firmness.

Long-term freshness depends on more than refrigeration. In controlled-atmosphere storage, apples are kept cold while oxygen is reduced and carbon dioxide is carefully managed. These conditions slow the fruit’s respiration and ripening without freezing it or stopping it from breathing.

Under specific controlled-atmosphere conditions, USDA researchers found that Fuji apples could retain their flavor and crispness for up to nine months. The exact storage period depends on the variety, maturity at harvest, treatment, temperature, and storage conditions.

Once the apples leave controlled storage, the same level of care has to continue on the road. This is where logistics providers such as A2B Logistics become part of the process, coordinating refrigerated capacity, pickup and delivery schedules, shipment visibility, and handoffs between cold storage, distribution centers, and retail locations.

Packing, handling, airflow, temperature stability, and delivery timing can all affect the quality that eventually reaches the shelf.

Freshness may be preserved for months. It still has to be protected through every mile.

Refrigerated transport is not only about keeping a trailer cold.

Temperature-sensitive shipments depend on the right carrier, the right equipment, the right appointment window, and clear updates while the load is moving.

For grocery, pharma, food service, and cold-storage shipments, a late delivery or unclear status can create bigger problems at the dock.

A2B Logistics handles refrigerated shipments with:

β€’ vetted re**er capacity
β€’ appointment coordination
β€’ in-transit visibility
β€’ 24/7 dispatch support
β€’ fast issue response when timing or conditions change
β€’ clean documentation and quick POD capture

From pickup to delivery, the goal is simple:

Keep the shipment on schedule, in temp, and under control.

The highway miles get most of the attention. The final few feet show the skill.

Backing a 53-foot trailer into a space this tight takes patience, a good setup, and small corrections all the way in.

Tag the driver who would call this an easy day at the yard. πŸ‘‡

Some aircraft wings fly before the aircraft they were made for.

Airbus builds A350 wings in Broughton, UK. Once a complete set is ready, the BelugaXL flies both wings to Toulouse, where they become part of the aircraft during final assembly.

Each wing is approximately 30 meters long.

The flight may be the most impressive part, but the full process depends on careful coordination:
β€’ correct staging
β€’ specialized handling
β€’ fixed departure and receiving schedules
β€’ clear visibility between facilities
β€’ confirmed handoffs

The same principle applies across manufacturing. Components often come from different suppliers and locations, but production depends on all of them arriving in the right order and at the right time.

And that’s where logistics providers like A2B come into play. Careful coordination, fast response, clear shipment updates, and reliable ground transportation help keep components moving between suppliers, plants, and distribution centers so every stage of production can stay on schedule.
