Is there anyone out there who wants to help us replace our driver Jim? Jim has been with Hurst Logistics for almost 17 years. He will be retiring at the end of the year. Congratulations to him!

We are looking for an OTR driver. This position requires leaving on Sundays and getting home on Thursdays. All of our drivers get their reset at their home, not a truck stop.

This is a full time position.

Job responsibilities include:

Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents or violations

Requirements
Proven work experience as a Truck Driver
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
No recent moving or driving violations
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
Willing to submit to background/drug checks

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Class A CDL

As you’ll notice this page name has changed. I am planning to use this page for both Jeremiah and his little brother Ian. Plans for 2023 for Jeremiah will be a lot like 22. Hit or miss in a couple cars nothing full time. Ian will begin his 3rd year in a sport mod and finally get to branch out from only racing Dubuque.

We have acquired a newer rage for 2023 thanks to some awesome family in Uncle Steve and the boys at Hurst Logistics. Can’t thank them enough for there help and the opportunity.

Job responsibilities include:
-Completes shipments by processing and loading orders.
-Unloading and checking accuracy of freight
-Prepares orders by processing requests; pulling materials; placing orders in shipping area.
-Enforces inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests.
-Provides quality service by following organization standards.
-Preserves safe and clean work environment.
-Completes reports by entering required information.

Hurst Logistics is looking for a full time diesel mechanic / maintenance person for our shop in Dubuque, IA. This position will be 40 hours per week with weekend hours available at times.

Job responsibilities include:
-Provide quality and cost-effective repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles.
-Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
-Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
-Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, and other associated parts
-Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
-Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
-Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks
-Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles

Skills and qualifications:
-Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
-In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
-Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
-Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
-Excellent problem-solving skills
-Keen attention to detail
-Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
-Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
-A valid driver’s license
-Good interpersonal skills
-Effective collaboration and communication skills
