A Summer of Community, Service & Getting Involved

As summer comes to a close and another school year begins, we’ve been reflecting on just how much this summer has meant to us at Voyageur Bus Co.

From the early mornings and long days of Grandma’s Marathon, to the Spirit Valley Days Parade, an air show, Touch-a-Truck events, driver training, community gatherings, and so many moments in between, our buses have been out and about—but more importantly, our people have been there.

We believe being a community-driven transportation company means more than simply getting from Point A to Point B.

It means showing up.

It means investing in the communities we serve.

It means putting Safety, Integrity, Service, and Community at the forefront of everything we do.

And this summer was a great reminder of why we do it. ❤️

We’ve also had an exciting summer of growth within our own team. We’ve welcomed many new school bus drivers and bus chaperones, and we’ve watched some of our Type III drivers take the next step and move into CDL positions. Seeing our team grow, learn, and take on new opportunities is one of the best parts of what we do.

Now, as students, families, teachers, and school staff head back to school—some starting tomorrow and others already back in the classroom—we want to wish everyone a fun, successful, and safe school year!

There will be busy mornings. There will be traffic. There will be unexpected moments. And there will undoubtedly be a few days when things don’t go exactly as planned.

But we’re in this together.

Our drivers, chaperones, dispatchers, mechanics, office staff, schools, families, and communities all play a part in getting our students where they need to be safely every day.

We are stronger together.

Thank you to everyone who allowed us to be part of your summer, and to the communities that continue to welcome us into their events and celebrations.

🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL — SEPTEMBER 1ST 📚

Tomorrow, the buses roll, the backpacks are packed, and a new school year begins (For some). But for us, it’s about so much more than simply getting from point A to point B.

Every morning, our drivers have the privilege of being one of the first friendly faces a student sees. Every afternoon, we have the responsibility of making sure they get home safely. In between those rides are thousands of little moments that become part of a child’s journey — conversations, encouragement, laughter, and sometimes simply knowing that someone cares.

As we begin another school year, we’re reminded of the values that guide everything we do:

SERVICE. INTEGRITY. SAFETY. COMMUNITY.

We serve because our community depends on us.
We lead with integrity because trust matters.
We put safety first because every student matters.
And we believe in community because the children riding our buses today are the people who will shape our communities tomorrow.

To our incredible drivers: thank you. Your job reaches far beyond driving a bus. You are helping create safe, positive experiences for the next generation, one route at a time.

To all of our students: we’re cheering you on! May this school year be filled with learning, friendships, challenges that make you stronger, and opportunities that help you discover just how much you’re capable of.

To our families, teachers, school staff, administrators, and entire community — we’re grateful to be a small part of the village helping our kids grow.

📞 A little grace goes a long way.

The first few weeks of school can be overwhelming for everyone — and that includes the people behind the scenes. Our dispatchers and office teammates are working hard to keep routes moving, communicate changes, answer questions, solve problems, and make sure every student gets where they need to go safely.

We know that when you call, it’s because you need help, have a question, or may be concerned about your child. We want to help. We ask that you give our team a little extra patience and kindness during those first few weeks as everyone settles into new routines. We’ll do our very best to listen, communicate, and serve you with the same care and respect we hope to receive.

We’re all on the same team, working toward the same goal: getting our kids to school safely and getting them home again.

We are currently hiring School Bus Route Drivers to support daily routes, field trips, athletic events, and special transportation needs.

Whether you already have your CDL or are starting fresh, we will support your success from day one!

What You’ll Do
Safely transport students and passengers on assigned routes, field trips, and charter events
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Assist passengers during boarding and unloading, including students and individuals with special needs
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle environment
Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members
Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and passengers
Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures

Schedule & Flexibility
Part-time, flexible scheduling (25-30 hours a week)
Opportunities for daytime, evening, and weekend work
Ideal for retirees, stay-at-home parents, and college students

What You’ll Need
Minimum age: 18
Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass background checks, drug test, and DOT physical

Grandma’s Marathon Weekend

In less than 24 hours, approximately 100-200 drivers will clock in to help serve our community by transporting Grandma’s Marathon runners and spectators.

Reporting for duty at 3:15 a.m. is challenging on any day, but during an event that brings nearly 20,000 additional visitors to the area, it becomes an even greater responsibility.

While we love what we do, weekends like this require tremendous coordination, focus, and teamwork. Traffic will be heavy, emotions will be high, and safety and consistency will be more important than ever.

As my first year helping coordinate driver supplies, I’ve gained a new appreciation for the amount of planning that happens behind the scenes. What may seem simple from the outside represents countless hours of preparation and collaboration by dedicated people working together to make this event successful.

The runners are, understandably, the focus of Grandma’s Marathon weekend. But as you cheer them on, please also keep in mind the law enforcement officers managing traffic, the drivers ensuring everyone arrives safely and on time, and the many volunteers and staff members working behind the scenes.

If you think of it this weekend, please say a prayer for everyone involved—for safety, protection, and guidance.

Good luck to all the runners, and thank you to everyone helping make this incredible event possible.

🚌 🎉 🛑 Our year end luncheon! Great food, great raffles, and great quality time.

What a team we have that runs around town day in and day out. Truly honored to be part of such a team. Thanks to those that show up every single day making sure the most precious cargo gets to school safely each and every day. You’re worth more than a meal or a prize, but nothing could amount to how much we care and appreciate you all.

Here’s to the 25-26 school year almost being done! Can’t wait until we are all back together again this fall. Until then, enjoy the sunshine, freedom, and time with family! 🚌 🎉 🛑
