NOW HIRING…Trailer/Diesel Mechanic – Light/Med/Heavy Duty

Cord Trucks is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to assist in keeping our trailers and other vehicles that haul large goods, in sound mechanical condition. The trailer mechanic will service, inspect, diagnose, and repair trailer bodies, systems, and components.

The right mechanic for our fleet shop in Earth City should have previous experience providing maintenance to include oil changes, brakes, tires, electrical trouble shooting, clutches, transmission replacement, hydraulic repairs, etc. Additionally, the position is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the shop during time between repairs.

This is a Full-time opportunity with benefits such as health, dental, vision and more. Cord Trucks will offer a fair and competitive pay rate based on knowledge, skills, and experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Advanced education in auto repair is preferred, but not required
• At least 2+ years as a trailer/diesel mechanic

As a Mover Helper, you will assist with the relocation of residential and commercial clients.
Responsibilities of a Mover Helper:

This is a physical labor position.
Provide top-notch customer service while assisting clients with their relocation/move.
Load and unload furniture, boxes, and other miscellaneous items onto trucks safely and efficiently.
Inspect furniture and miscellaneous items for any damage.
Assemble and disassemble furniture.
Helpers could be required to pack or unpack the client’s belongings.
Other duties as assigned.
Mover Qualifications:

Helpers should be able to lift 50-100 lbs. consistently with our without accommodations.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Past moving experience with a professional moving company is a plus.
Must be comfortable working with others as a team and following instructions from the Driver.
Effective communication, attention to detail, and excellent customer service are non-negotiable.
Must be dependable and reliable.
Must have a neat appearance.
Helpers are required to comply with pre-employment background screening.

Salary: $12.00 to $13.00 /hour

This position manages the relocation of business/industrial and residential clients property to and from contracted locations.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school education or equivalent. Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills are essential. Must be able to problem solve and work independently. Must be able to complete documentation thoroughly and legibly. Consistency in attendance is crucial. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Must have a CDL license with a good driving record. Must pass SIRVA accreditation. Must pass DOT physical.

• Provides exceptional customer service throughout the move process to both internal and external clients.
• Safely operates assigned vehicle, according to all federal, state and local laws as well as all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Transports assigned cargo on interstates or local roads to proper destinations.
• Greets client upon arrival as the specified location and completes a walk-through of the premises.
• Assists and supervises in loading and unloading of assigned cargo at pick-up and delivery destinations.
• Manages the local moving and packing crew member team to efficiently and safety load and unload assigned cargo.
• Inspects and completes a thorough and detailed inventory of all boxes, furniture and miscellaneous items for damage.
• Assembles and disassembles furniture.
• Prepares working environment to ensure move can be properly executed and protected.
• Performs a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection on assigned vehicle. Immediately reports any maintenance problems or concerns to the Local Dispatcher, Shop Manager, Operations Manager, and/or Safety Manager.
• Maintains accurate record of duty status through used of ELD or logbook when applicable, operating within the DOT hours or service regulations.
• Completes reports and all required paperwork accurately and on-time.
• Completion of special projects as requested.
