If anyone is interested in large tomatoes, swing by and grab some. I have them on a table out front. We are overloaded with them and I don't want to see them go to compost pile.

Like I said I will post another so here goes. If any of our friends here in the East Hampton CT area want or need peaches or green beans we have way to many right now. Peaches I used to get rid of to a number of businesses and friends but only one business has taken peaches the rest have changed hands and the friends have moved. As for the green beans, many are perfect for canning pickled green beans, I'm still not classified as a farm in East Hampton so not doing the normal canning I would be doing, so hoping to help out others. If and when I get farm status I will start again. It will be from 10 AM to Noon tomorrow 16 Aug 2026. Pick your own, I will see what you pick and give you a very nice price for them. Trust me it will be way less than store, stands or other farms. I just don't want to see them go to waste. No need to call just show up at Rick's Sugar Shack on Collie Brook Road East Hampton, CT Find me in a perennial garden and will show you where to go. Once gone they are gone. I may have enough peas as well.

Hello all. Yes I know it's been awhile since I gave a worth while post. But very happy I'm on the Ag Commission and looking forward to our next meeting 19 Aug 26. So today was the East Hampton CT "Farm Stand Crawl Tour" with 8 different places. I hit all but 1, but had to get back home for Jill. But I was very happy to visit all these folks today, many that want FARM STATUS in East Hampton, CT. including me and Rick's Sugar Shack. But our town refuses to help out the farmers. But with the new Ag Commission we hope to change that. My last stop was with the farm "Strong's Farm & Saw Mill" whose owner our Chairman of the commission and another member and we had quite the great chat about farming and the town. So will see what happens next. I will post another after this for our farm.

Just a quick update on the Ag Commission. We have our first meeting set. It will be tomorrow at 6PM. Mainly just to get things going and select a chairman, vice chairman and other positions. So lets see how this all goes. Thank You to the ones that asked me to apply for the commission. The great thing is I know many of the folks that are on the commission.

Good afternoon all. Well I have been waiting to hear about the Agriculture Commission I was interviewed for. Today I received a letter stating I was selected. Will get an e-mail with the first meeting date. Soon I pray. But for now I will put on hold closing Rick's Sugar Shack. Lets see how it goes. But now I guess I may need to start getting wood into the wood shed in case things go good. Will keep all of you posted as things progress. Praying that finally I may get farm status.

Hello all again. Well more folks came and got flowers yesterday and with what went and I put in flower beds I'm about out. However I'm not a fan of PETUNIAS. So I have 3 trays that are at the end of the driveway on a small table, and for anyone local that wants them for FREE come and grab. I don't want to put them in compose pile.

Good evening all. Well I just finished another perennial garden, that is filling in with annuals. Of the 36 gardens I only have 3 more to get done. That will be tomorrow. But I want to THANK

Rick's Sugar Shack
Good evening all. Well we sold more annual flowers at the church this morning which was great, but I still have a large amount left over. Many 4.5 inch pots. Mainly geranium plants, all colors. Have flats of 6 pack annuals as well, plus 11 and 12 inch hangers. More than I can use. I will be in our yard tomorrow from 11 AM to 1 PM. All I want for each is what it cost me from the green house. If interested stop on by. THANKS

Hello all. Well the flower sale today ended up as a wash out. We still have many hanging baskets and a lot of annuals that didn't sell since the rain started at 11 AM. So each year we bring in the remaining plants and see what sells after church the following day. I will be there and it's open to the public from 11AM to NOON tomorrow since we have many more plants available. Keep in mind the price is cheaper than one finds at farm stands. So come and do your plant shopping at the Congregational Church of East Hampton on Main Street inside tomorrow from 11 to Noon.

Good evening all. Well I did the interview for the Agriculture Commission this evening. It will be awhile before I find out if I was selected. Will post as soon as I find out. Thanks to the folks that asked me to please file the application and see if I could become a member. For me though it's more about keeping the Rick's Sugar Shack in business.
