Upcoming Airfield Impacts and Closures (Public Notice- 10/16/26)

As part of our ongoing Airfield Modernization Program to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, and bring our facilities into compliance with current FAA standards, scheduled construction requires a temporary closure of Runway 4/22 to begin in two weeks.

Runway 4/22 will be closed beginning at 0700L on October 29th until 1700L on December 18th

Note: We anticipate that Runway 4/22 will open for the Waterfowl Festival (Nov 13 -15) and Thanksgiving weekends. Specific dates & times will be coordinated and announced soon.

Runway 15/33 will remain available for normal operations.

As part of our ongoing Airfield Modernization Program to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, and bring our facilities into compliance with current FAA standards, scheduled construction requires a temporary closure of Runway 4/22 to begin in three weeks.

Runway 4/22 will be closed beginning at 0700L on October 29th until 1700L on December 18th

Runway 15/33 will remain available for normal operations.

Public Notice: MDA Cover Crop Aerial Seeding is Underway

This fall, rural residents across Maryland may notice an increase in low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and drones. Farmers participating in the Maryland Department of Agriculture's (MDA) Cover Crop Program are utilizing local airports and aerial seeding technology to plant rye, wheat, and other fall cover crops into standing corn and soybean fields. While aerial seeding aircraft do not typically originate out of Easton Airport, all pilots entering Easton's airspace are to remain in direct communication with the ESN Air Traffic Control tower.

Cover cropping helps improve soil health, prevent erosion, and protect local waterways and the Chesapeake Bay by absorbing excess nutrients before winter sets in.
