The subject of the Stratos Project: this is the letter I submitted to Governor Cox this morning and I encourage all residents of our community to contact their government officials to express their opinions on the proposed AI Data Center to be constructed in Box Elder at the edge of The Great Salt Lake. Our collective voice matters and as Utahans, we must speak up to prevent this project from moving forward. And by the way it took all of 3 minutes!

Email to Governor Cox:
Dear Governor Cox- I am a new resident of your beautiful state. We moved here in Jan of 2025. I bought a business - Ogden Valley Copy in Eden, created an art gallery of local/regional artists and as a result have met most of the residents in our Valley. The one thing I am hearing everyday is how saddened, appalled and angry people are over the idea that an AI data center could be built in Box Elder at the edge of The Great Salt Lake. What is your stance on this project? And how as a concerned business owner and resident who moved here due to the natural resources, can help fight such a catastrophic situation. I am considering putting up posters in my business - where we have hundreds of people thru a week- itβs a hub of activity - and would like to tell people where you and other government officials stand and how they can help. Has your position on the center changed? We donβt need to keep up with the Chinese. Keeping up with them at the expense of destroying our beautiful state/country is absurd. To what end?
Thank you in advance for a speedy response. Best, Deborah Quinn
