On February 8, 2018, Legislation H.R.4979 was introduced by Rep. David Reichart (R-WA-8) and 8 other congressmen to renew GSP which has expired on December 31, 2017. The House passed the legislation by 400-2 vote.

The Senate voted today to re-open the government, 81-18. The final vote will extend funding for the government for 3 weeks (February 8, 2018).
