REMEMBER – IF YOU GOT IT – A TRUCK BROUGHT IT. This week we THANK truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs. These 3.6 million men and women deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time — and they help keep our highways safe. Nearly every part of daily life is possible because a truck driver delivered what people need.

Here at Amhof, we try to put a face to those big rigs you see on the road with our weekly THANK-A-TRUCKER drawing — a small way to show gratitude for our drivers’ dedication and hard work. 💯

As you may remember, Amhof won the BEST IN CLASS award with The Machinery Haulers Association. We didn’t earn that by accident. Our drivers work hard every day to operate safely on the roadway. Still, we’re only one part of keeping the roads safe.

A reminder to ALL DRIVERS: Share the Road. We ALL have a responsibility to make our highways safer. Because of their size and weight, semis need more room to stop, turn, and maneuver. A few tips we can all use:

✅ Blind spots — If you can’t see the truck driver’s mirrors clearly, they likely cannot see you.
✅ If you have to pass a truck, get around them quickly.
✅ Use your turn signals.
✅ Don’t tailgate.
✅ Slow down in bad weather.
✅ DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE. 📵

Congratulations to this week’s winner of the THANK-A-TRUCKER raffle – Brian Voice! 🎉

This is Brian’s third time winning the drawing! Originally from England, Brian started his professional driving career at age 25 behind the wheel of London’s iconic red double-decker buses 🚌. He then spent three years driving tour coaches for tourists before moving to America.

Brian has been driving for Amhof since 2012 and has earned multiple Safe Driving Awards along the way. A true hard worker who can haul just about anything that comes his way, Brian recently moved over to our van division 🚛.

When he’s not on the road, he spends his home time with his beautiful wife, Robbin. Brian, we hope you and Robbin enjoy your $100 VISA Gift Card and $50 Texas Roadhouse.

Last week at the 2026 TMHA Conference in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, The Machinery Haulers Association named Amhof Trucking, Inc. of Eldridge, IA the “Best of Class” Fleet Safety Award winner. 🏆 TMHA competition is always tough because its members are among the safest carriers on the road. They recognized Amhof for our exemplary safety programs and our history of excellent safety performance.

With National Truck Driver Appreciation Week right around the corner, the timing is perfect. This award belongs to our drivers. Every day they haul specialized machinery and open-deck freight through tough weather, complex securement, and demanding routes — and they do it the safe way, every single mile.

To our drivers: thank you for your skill, professionalism, and for looking out for each other and the motoring public. You are the backbone of this company and the reason we are recognized as the best of the best.

Thank you to the Machinery Haulers Association and its members for this honor. We are proud to stand alongside an elite group of carriers who dedicate themselves to raising the bar for safety and excellence in the heavy hauling industry. Today we celebrate the hard work and dedication of our drivers, office team, diesel techs, and warehouse staff — and of workers across the country. Wishing you a safe, restful, and joyful holiday filled with quality time with family and friends.

It has been a tough week here at Amhof. We have lost two of our icons. On August 22, 2026, long-time driver Bill Wailand passed away.

A young Bill Wailand started with Amhof at the age of 44 years old, but he was no rookie—he had already begun his driving career with over a million miles travelled. Bill ran all 48 states and Canada, but here at Amhof he was most famous for running the Northwest Corridor, logging over half a million miles hauling oversized freight. In total, Bill drove over 3 million miles at Amhof alone. When Bill retired in 2024, he had achieved 30 years of Safe Driving Awards.

Four years ago, we had him involved in a “mock trial” at one of our safety meetings. He was cross-examined by our attorney in an effort to prepare less experienced drivers on how to react in the event of an accident, and to prepare them for the type of questions they would be asked when they took the stand.

Our attorney battered him with questions, and Bill responded with the voice of experience. Sticking to his trademark phrase when answering each question, he would start with, “The reality is…” and give an answer that stuck straight to the facts of the accident scene.

Two days prior to Bill’s death, I was talking to our attorney about returning to Amhof to be a guest speaker at an upcoming safety meeting. He remembered Bill, asked how he was, and if he was still driving, he remarked “Bill was the essence of a good driver”.

Bill’s legacy will live on at Amhof, and the skills he shared with our drivers will live on as well.

To our extended Amhof family, Graveside services will be 2:30 PM on Thursday, September, 3, 2026 at Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Davenport, IA.

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our beloved matriarch, Bonnie Amhof, who left us on August 24, 2026.

I knew Bonnie for 35 years, working shoulder to shoulder with her before her retirement. I know firsthand her love for her drivers, office staff, diesel techs, and warehouse family—and we loved her right back.

Bonnie lived a life of dedicated service, whether she was giving her time to the City of Eldridge, the Park View Lutheran Church, or here at Amhof. She truly loved her family, friends, coworkers/employees, and drivers. We loved her deeply in return and will miss her deeply.

Bonnie was the consummate teacher, always learning, sharing her wisdom, and evolving with the times. Her strong faith carried us through many difficult times. I treasure the many wonderful memories of working for her and our business trips together. I think we all secretly felt like Bonnie was going to be with us forever, but sadly, we now know that is not the case.

To our extended Amhof family, funeral services will take place at Park View Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026. (Visitation will begin prior at 9:30 a.m.)

Happy Fourth of July from our family to yours! 🇺🇸

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, we’re taking a moment to honor the brave founders who risked everything for the freedom and opportunity we enjoy today.

A big THANK YOU to our hardworking drivers, diesel techs, warehouse crew, and office staff. We appreciate everything you do and hope you get to spend this special day with your families and friends.

And to all our drivers out on the road and the many truckers still keeping freight moving this holiday — THANK YOU.
