FAQ’s:
How many beds? There are two separate suites, one has 6 (3 sets of bunks), and one has 8 (4 sets of bunks). I roster the same amount of people in the 8 bunk room as the 6. The 2 are extra for both rooms.
How many people per room? Typically each room has between 13-16 guys on the roster which rarely, if ever, fills all sleeping stations or creates an overflow. It’s rarely at capacity since everyone is on different schedules. Some setups allow around 20 people, I cap it and take the hit on income to provide less crowding.
What happens if the room is overflowed? You can use the other crashpad room for the night.
Is it male only? Yes, strictly male only. Pilots and FA’s only (Crew only).
What is a hot bed vs cold bed? In a cold bed setup, it’s your bed, no one else’s. In a hot bed setup, it’s first come first served for the night, and for commuters who live out of base. Cold beds are more of a permanent / apartment style setup, which this is not. This is a HOT BED setup for commuters, you cannot live here or be here on days off.
Is there a kitchen? No, just a small refrigerator for your nightly items.
Can I keep anything there? No, this is a fly-in, fly-out crashpad. You may not keep any belongings, or be there on days off except to be in position the night prior, or after missing a night commute home.
How do I pay? You’ll get that info in next steps.
Does the hotel know you have a crashpad? Yes, we have a contract. To get a key, your badge/ID is matched with the Master Access List provided by me to the front desk.
Are you part of the Hotel Crashpad Network (HCPN)? No, however we have a bilateral agreement to offer accessible options for our crews transferring bases or entering a city not served by the other. HCPN management and I have worked together for several years, and I highly recommend them for other cities.
