Today I’m feeling pretty accomplished as a Travel Agent and accessible travel warrior! 💙🦖♿

I planned our entire day in Cobh during our British Isles cruise for UNDER €100 — including transportation, coffee, sightseeing, and flexibility for mobility needs!

Our adventure includes:
🚆 Train rides
🚕 Taxi connections
🚌 Local buses
🏰 Exploring Blarney Castle and the beautiful grounds
☕ Coffee at the castle café
🍽️ Maybe a nice lunch
⚓ Time at the Cobh Heritage Centre before boarding the ship again

And yes… Blue my Travel Velociraptor (aka my 4-wheel rollator walker 😂🦖) is coming too!

🚨 BEWARE OF THE ETA MONSTERS! 🚨
Even a travel agent's husband isn't immune! 😅 Here's a real story — OUR story — that could save you a serious headache before your UK trip.
We're heading across the pond for our first visit to London and a 12-day British Isles cruise, and while I was at work, my sweet hubby decided to surprise me by taking care of our UK ETA visas. Unfortunately, he landed on a third-party site that looked just like the official UK Government website — and got charged over £115 GBP instead of the £20 GBP (~$25 USD) per person that a real ETA costs as of April 2026.
Here's the good news: we acted fast. I emailed the fraudulent company requesting a refund due to deceptive practices, and — surprisingly — they agreed to refund most of it and just charge us the actual government fee. So it pays to speak up quickly!
Your checklist before applying for a UK ETA:
✅ Only apply at gov.uk — look for that exact URL in your address bar
✅ The real cost is £20 GBP (~$25 USD) per person — anything more is a red flag
✅ If something feels off, stop and verify your URL immediately
✅ Got scammed? Email them AND call your credit card company right away — don't wait for pending charges to post if you can help it
Don't be too hard on yourself if this happens — if it can happen to us, it can happen to anyone! Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. 🍋 That's why I'm sharing so it doesn't happen to YOU.
