🌊 Boat Season Prep Checklist
Is your boat ready for another season on the water? Taking a few hours now can save you from costly repairs and unexpected breakdowns later.
🔹 Inspect the Hull
Walk around your boat and look for cracks, blisters, loose fittings, or signs of damage. Clean and wax the hull to protect it from the elements and keep it looking its best.
🔹 Check the Battery & Electrical System
Make sure battery terminals are clean and secure. Test lights, gauges, pumps, navigation lights, and electronics to ensure everything is working properly.
🔹 Inspect Fuel Lines & Filters
Look for cracked hoses, loose clamps, or signs of fuel leaks. Replace fuel filters if needed and check that all connections are secure.
🔹 Examine the Engine
Check fluid levels, belts, hoses, and the cooling system. Replace worn parts before they become a problem on the water.
🔹 Review Safety Equipment
Verify that life jackets are onboard and in good condition. Check fire extinguishers, flares, horns, first aid kits, and emergency equipment.
🔹 Test Bilge Pumps
A functioning bilge pump is essential. Make sure it activates properly and clears water efficiently.
🔹 Inspect Dock Lines & Fenders
Replace worn ropes and damaged fenders to protect your boat while docked.
🔹 Update Registration & Documentation
Confirm your registration, insurance, and any required paperwork are current before your first trip.
Taking the time to complete these simple checks can help ensure a safer, smoother, and more enjoyable boating season.
