The Charter Oak core lines deliver a mild-to-medium smoking experience, smooth flavor, and exceptional value—a tribute to Connecticut’s rich to***co heritage.

Charter Oak Especiales brings a more robust expression to that tradition, with two distinct blends honoring Nicholas Melillo’s ( NICKrAGUA (Nicholas Melillo) )grandfathers: Pegnataro, named for my maternal grandfather, Anthony Pegnataro, features a Connecticut Shade wrapper. Pasquale, named for my paternal grandfather, Pasquale Melillo, features Connecticut Broadleaf.

Both are completely different blends from their core-line counterparts. Higher-priming to***cos, including heavier viso and ligero, bring greater complexity, deeper flavor, and increased strength.

Two grandfathers. Two blends. One Connecticut legacy.

Rooted in Tradition. Built on Craftsmanship.

From the Connecticut River Valley comes a tradition that continues to define Charter Oak.

Three distinct expressions of that heritage:

Connecticut Shade — Smooth and balanced.
Habano — Rich in character and spice.
Connecticut Broadleaf — Bold, earthy, and naturally sweet.

Three blends. One enduring legacy.

Charter Oak — The Pride of the CT River Valley.

This Monday evening, we’re celebrating the Charter Oak core lineup: Connecticut Shade, Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro, and Habano.

A homage to the historic cigar brands once manufactured in Connecticut, these blends carry that tradition forward with quality and value that have earned Charter Oak repeated recognition among Cigar Aficionado’s Best Buys.

In 1687, according to tradition, Connecticut’s royal charter was hidden inside the tree to keep it from being seized by the Crown’s representative. The oak became an enduring symbol of liberty and self-government—a spirit that helped shape American independence.

A tribute to our home state, its to***co heritage, and its independent spirit. 🌳

Foundation Friday 🌞 Charter Oak Especiales are in Stock !!! Ask your local to***conist !

Nicholas Melillo’s appreciation for handmade ci**rs began with his grandfathers—one devoted to Connecticut Shade, the other to Connecticut Broadleaf.

Charter Oak Especiales honors both men through two distinct blends bearing their names.@

Pegnataro pairs a Connecticut Shade wrapper with Nicaraguan to***cos.

Pasquale features Connecticut Broadleaf over its own distinct Nicaraguan blend.

Each was developed separately to complement its wrapper, with greater richness and complexity than the original Charter Oak line.

Together, they tell a personal story of family, Connecticut roots, and a tradition passed from one generation to the next.

Two grandfathers. Two blends. A legacy carried forward.

The Wise Man Maduro & Corojo 7 x 40 Lanceros are released only once each quarter in limited production quantities. Ask your local to***conist today to secure a box !! 🌞🌋🌋

At 7 x 40, the Lancero is one of the most demanding vitolas to roll consistently, requiring exceptional skill, precision, and to***co selection. That difficulty is exactly why production remains limited.

Lanceros have always been a cigar for the connoisseur — a format that puts the wrapper front and center and rewards a slower, more attentive smoking experience.

The Wise Man Lancero. Limited. Refined. Made for those who know.
